Namit Mehta IAS: A Career that is a Model of Field Leadership in 2025 

Namit Mehta is a very dynamic member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), which, in the case of the Rajasthan cadre, has seen him put forth a very hands-on approach to district administration, and for his effective management, which played out during tough public health crises. Also, his team did very well in the initial phase of the crisis.

District Collector Roles: He has held the post of District Collector and District Magistrate (DM) in key districts, which include Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Pali, and Bhilwara.

Current Posting (2025): In a big administrative restructuring, which saw Namit Mehta take the post of District Collector in Udaipur in February 2025. That is a very key position in Rajasthan which includes the administration of a large city and also running an important tourism base.

As of 2025, it is Namit Mehta who is at the head of the Udaipur district administration, which he has been a part of for many years and which he has built through his academic background and constant interaction with the public.
