Mutyalaraju Revu IAS: An Inspiring Journey
Revu Mutyalaraju is a venerable Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer whose story is a great inspiration in and of itself. He secured the All India Rank 1 in the Civil Services Examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 2006. The officer belongs to a very modest background. He was born in Chinnagollapalem village, a remote island village in Andhra Pradesh. His father was a marginal farmer. The family belonged to the Agnikula Kshatriya community.
Motivation and Educational Foundation
A significant motivation contextualized his professional goals. Tragically, an incident occurred in 1998 with the death of his sister due to a lack of medical facilities. This event ignited his urge for change to revamp the infrastructure of remote villa
ges. Prior to his securing an IAS rank, he had stood with flying colors in his academics and was a state topper in the Polytechnic entrance exam. He completed his B.Tech degree at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal and later did an M.E. at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. His entire educational journey exhibited his brilliance, as he even secured AIR 1 in the Indian Engineering Services (IES) exam in 2003, which later caused him to serve as a railway engineer for a short period of time.
The UPSC Success
This great success was achieved in his third attempt. In his second attempt, he secured a high rank. He was allotted the Indian Police Service (IPS). Revu Mutyalaraju was undergoing training when the final IAS results came out. He joined the 2007 IAS batch of the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Mr. Revu was born on March 1, 1980. Revu Mutyalaraju will be 45 years old in 2025.
Key Administrative Roles in 2025
The officer has held several significant posts. He previously served as the District Collector of Nellore. Revu Mutyalaraju later served as the Collector of West Godavari. He focused on strengthening rural governance. He then held the post of Secretary to the Chief Minister. Currently, he holds a high-level position. Mr. Revu is posted as the Commissioner for Rural Development. His work focuses on improving the Panchayat Raj system. He continues his mission to uplift isolated villages. His commitment to public service remains strong. The officer is recognized for his integrity and hard work.
