Born 1975 on January 26th, 2025, Gayatri A. Rathore will turn 50. She is a part of the 1997 IAS batch and hails from Udaipur, Rajasthan. Academically very well-rounded, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Birmingham (UK), which also gives her a global outlook on governance.
Her which included terms as District Collector and District Magistrate in districts like Banswara, Nagaur, and Sawai Madhopur which in turn gave her a base of grassroots experience.
High-Profile Roles and Administrative Focus
Rathore has been put in charge of departments that are related to public welfare:
Tourism and Culture: She is known for her term as Principal Secretary of the Tourism, Art, Literature, Culture Archaeology Department, in which she worked to make Rajasthan a global destination.
Health Sector Leadership: In 2024, we saw a turning point when she took on the role of Principal Secretary for Medical Health and Family Welfare. In that position, she stepped into the lead of health care administration, which included the RGHS. She introduced measures to improve monitoring and to fight irregularities.
Welfare Portfolios (2025): In 202,5, at the same time that she took on the health portfolio, which was already hers, also at the time of November 2025, shewaso as made Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department and the Panchayati Raj (Women and Child Development) Department.

As of late November 2025, Gayatri A. Rathore still serves as Principal Secretary and has been given charge over the Health and Women, and Child Development sectors also. Her professional journey is that of a very powerful woman bureaucrat in Rajasthan, whose government values her administrative depth and quality, which she brings to large-scale public service delivery issues.
