In her portrayal of Ujala, which was very emotional, in her controversial negative roles like Hareem in Mushkil and now in Ism-e-Yaraan, she is redefining what she does. Her non-artistic background is what fuels her to prove a point, and her academic background, which is in the mainstream, gives her a down-to-earth edge.
