New OTT Releases This Week
From what we have seen to what we didn’t know, we needed high-energy comedy to intense psychological thrillers and emotional regional dramas. This week, audiences have a lot to choose from as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, and YouTube put out new content.
Bollywood & Hindi Highlights
Housefull 5 Prime Video (Aug 1).

Akshay Kumar is the star of Housefull 5, which is a release on Prime Video for free from August 1st and also includes alternative endings and a murder mystery twist.
Bakaiti – ZEE5 (August 1)
This poignant family drama set in Ghaziabad is about a middle-class family that is renting out a room. Bakaiti, which is a dramedy, will debut on ZEE5 in August.
Siteara Zameen Par YouTube Pay Per View (August 1).
Aamir Khan’s latest sports comedy Sitare Zameen Par is going direct to YouTube for its premiere in August at a rate of Rs 100 per view.
Telugu & South Indian Releases
Thammudu – Netflix (August 1)

Nithiin’s action drama Thammudu hits Netflix on August 1st in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages, which is an attempt to bring back the audience post-theatrical run.
3BHK – Prime Video (August 1)
Siddharth and R. Sarathkumar star in a family drama that premieres August 1st on Amazon Prime in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
Global Streaming Gems
My Oxford Term Netflix (August 1).
This romantic story of a coming-of-age journey of an American student at Oxford will be available to stream on Netflix from August 1.
Leanne – Netflix (July 31)
A wonderful sitcom that features Leanne Morgan as a grandmother who is back into the dating scene and rekindling love post-divorce, which is now available to stream on July 31st on Netflix.
An Honest Life is on Netflix – July 31
Japanese crime drama from a best seller, An Honest Life, which explores the dark underbelly of Tokyo, is out July 31st on Netflix.
Unspeakable Sins – Netflix (July 30)

A long burn into the issues of the past which play in the present, our story premieres July 30 on Netflix.

Twisted Metal – Season 2: Action comedy remake starring Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz is out this week on SonyLIV and associated platforms.

This year, we see July 30 through August 1, 2025, which will feature a mix of global Netflix premieres, big-budget Bollywood comedies, and regional Indian films, from the offbeat Leanne and Japanese noir An Honest Life to South Indian films like Thammudu and 3BHK, which will cater to diverse language and genre audiences.
