Scoring a double century in One Day International (ODI) cricket is a rare and amazing achievement in the sport. It requires power, stamina, concentration, and fearless stroke play. Throughout the year,s only a few batters have broken the 200-run mark, and some did it at incredible speed. We take a look at the top 10 fastest double centuries in ODI cricket history up to 2026.
Ishan Kishan – 126 balls
Kishan broke the record for the quickest ODI double century when he scored 210 against Bangladesh in 2022. Also very surprising was his aggressive approach.
Glenn Maxwell – 128 balls
Maxwell’s 20 out of 20 against Afghanistan in the 2023 World Cup was the greatest ODI innings in which he performed under huge pressure.
AB de Villiers – 150 balls
In 201,5 de Villiers put up 200 against the West Indies, which was a feat of innovation and 360-degree stroke play.
Chris Gayle – 138 balls
In the 2015 World Cup, which is when it happened, Gayle put away 215 against Zimbabwe,e which was a first for a player to do so.
Virender Sehwag – 140 balls
Sehwag’out-of-the-parkrk 219 against the West Indies in 2011 redefined what it means to be an aggressive opening batsman in ODI cricket.
Rohit Sharma – 151 balls
Rohit scored 264 in 2014 against Sri Lanka, which is his highest individual ODI score,e, and to this day is a historic milestone.
Martin Guptill – 153 balls
Guptill’s undefeated 237 in the 2015 World Cup quarterfinal was a performance to remember.
Fakhar Zaman – 148 ballZimbabwe
Z in 2018 put up a score of 210 against Zimbabwe, which also saw Pakistan’s first man to do so.
Shubman Gill – 145 balls
Gill put on a fine display of the young players’ aggressive batting in the 2023 series against New Zealand.
Sachin Tendulkar – 147 balls
Tendulkar was the first cricketer to post a double century in ODIs in 2010 against South Africa.
These amazing innings show that ODI cricket has grown into ahigh-scoringg, powerful format. What we saw in terms of batters reaching 200 so quickly is a result of modern fitness levels, better equipment, and very brave mindsets.
