Medha Anand is an outstanding young member of the IAS who is a great source of inspiration for aspiring civil service professionals all over the country. By 202,5, she will have left behind a successful career in Railways to take up the administrative challenge which which to which she is going to bring her tenacity and sharp intellect to the public sector.
Biography and Unwavering Determination
Born in 1994, Medha Anand will turn 31 in 2025. From Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, Medha is from an engineering background, which she studied at Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU) in Kanpur, and got her degree in Civil Engineering in 2017.
Her path to the IAS was a story of great perseverance. In four years of taking the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE), which she gave five times over, she came out on top to secure All India Rank 13 in the 2023 CSE.
Previous SuccessAtat an early age, she got what, which in 2019, for the second time, she achieved AIR 311, thus securing a spot in the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS).
The IAS Dream: Although a central government employee, she was still very much dedicated to the IAS. She would study at every chance she got while working as an Assistant Operator in Management for the Prayagraj Division of the North Central Railway. Her breakthrough came when she chose Sociology as her optional subject, which also included her mother’s dreams.
Cadre and Current Status in 2025
As a member of the 2024 Batc, Medha Anand has been assigned to the Rajasthan Cadre.
LBSNAA Training: Throughout 2024 and 2025, she has been in intense training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. This base period is to prepare her for the complex role of district administration.
Administrative Focus: Her goal is to put focus on women’s empowerment and financial independence, of women and health, which in turn will bring about positive grassroots change.
At the end of 2025, Medha Anand is finishing up her foundation training, which comes in 202,6 when she will take on her first field assignment in Rajasthan. Her career, which has been defined by her resilience in the face of setbacks and her clear vision for public service, is a great story that, in turn, is living proof of the value of hard work. Aashna Chaudhary is a young, dynamic member of the Indian Police Service (IPS), which is the story of her academic success, her rise above failure, and her ultimate achievement in public service. By 20,25, Shadhas left the intense training behind to take up her first field postings, which also saw her rise to become one of the most public and influential of the young admin professionals on social media.
Triumph Over Setback
Aashna Chaudhary from Pilkhuwa in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh did what it took to do well in the UPSC Civil Services Exam. She is a graduate of Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University, which she left with honors in English Literature, and also did a post-graduate from South Asian University.

Her UPSC story is one of determination. For two years in a row in 2020 and 2020, which was the first time out for her, she was not able to pass the prelims; the second time so close that it was by a mere 2.5 marks. But instead of giving in, which was at the tips of her fingers, out went again in 2022, where she scored very high and got the All India Rank of 116. While she had the chance at IAS with that rank, she went for the IPS, which is proof of her love for law enforcement and public service. She is from the Uttar Pradesh Cadre.
Career and Social Influence in 2025
In 2024 and 2025, Aashna Chaudhary began her first year of service as a 2023 batch officer.
Field Posting: After completion of her probation, she was assigned to key field responsibility. In August 202,5, she was made Assistant Superintendent of Police (AS, P), which also put her in the dual charge of CO City and Police Lines In-charge in Mathura. That placement in a sensitive and high-profile religious city is a reflection of the administration’s faith in her abilities early in her career.
Personal Life: She is the wife of Abhinav Siwach, who achieved AIR 12 in the 2022 CS, E, which they have in common, which is that they are at the top level of the civil service.
Beyond her administrative roles, Aashna Chaudhary has built a large social media base, which she uses to motivate thousands by shedding light on what goes into the preparation process and sharing inspiration. In 2,025, we see the story of a young officer who is that of success in balancing law enforcement work with public communication, and in which she puts forth a vision that attracts a new generation of aspirants.
