Kurve Sachin Shardchandra is a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), which he has served for over two decades. By 2025, he had risen to a preeminent position, which he attained through his wide range of experience in the north and west Indian states. Kurve Sachin Shardchandra is a part of the 2003 IAS batch and is in the Uttarakhand cadre. Also of note in his career is the large scale of cross-cadre work, which he did during long-term deputation to his home state, Maharashtra.

In his career, he has had the role of :

District Administration: He was a District Magistrate (DM) in a key Uttarakhand district, which included Rudraprayag, Tehri-Garhwal, Dehradun, and Haridwar, and was in charge of primary local administration and disaster management issues, especially in the hill areas.

Maharashtra Deputation (2015 onwards): During a tour of Maharashtra, he held key positions such as Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary to the Governor., Also he was the District Collector in Nagpur and Mumbai, which gave him control beoverwo of India’s largest urban and economic centers.

Economic Portfolio: He was a key player in terms of bringing in industrial investment as Investment Commissioner of Industries in Maharashtra.

Upon return to his parent cadre, Kurve took up key posts in the economy and infrastructure. He served as Secretary of Industries, Excise, and Food Civil Supplies in Uttarakhand, before which he handled critical tourism and revenue portfolios.

In his term as Secretary, Tourism, and CEO of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, he was key in putting forth strategies that developed sustainable and experiential tourism in the Himalayan state.

By 2025, it is reported that Sachin Shardchandra is still in the upper levels of the Uttarakhand administration. In a small-scale reorganization of the cabinet, he took up more important posts at the Principal Secretary/Secretary level, which he has been able to use to put into practice state policy and implement programs.
