Jasmeet Singh Sandhu IAS: A Strong Leader in Rajasthan 2025.
Jasmeet Singh Sandhu is a well-regarded member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), which he achieved through his tenacity in reaching a top post and also due to his successful administrative career in Rajasthan. By 202,5, his biography is that of a leader in a recently created district and pro-social welfare advocate.
Biography and UPSC Triumph
Born on the 23rd of September 1987, Jasmeet Singh Sandhu is a part of the 2016 batch of the Rajasthan Cadre. He is an alumnus of IIT Roorkee which he graduated with a B.Tech degree in Paper Technology.
He is a living example of perseverance that paid off. He cleared the exam the 4th time around to get an excellent All India Rank of 3 in the 2015 Civil Services Exam (CSE). Also, before this, in the I, RS, he had done very well to get an AIR of 332. At the time of breaking through into the IAS while still in IRS training, which goes to show his unrelenting focus.
He is married to Dr. Artika Shukla, who got AIR 4 in the same 2015 and is also an IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, which is what makes them one of the most prominent admin couples in the state.
Key Postings and Current Status (2025)
Sandhu has been given key field positions, which is an indication of his ability to deal with complex district administration.
District Collector Roles: He was the Collector and District Magistrate of Phalodi and also that of the new district of Salumbar.
National Recognition: In December 2024, which saw him in the role of Collector of Salumba,r, he received a National Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities at the hands of the President of India for his successful push of the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan (Accessible India Campaign), which he had put into practice.
In 2025, we saw a change in which he left field command for a more specialized admin role. In early 202,5, he took over as the Joint CEO of the State Health Assurance Agency (SHAA) in Rajasthan, Jaipur. But in later restructuring, he went back to a front-line district role. As of February 2025, he is the District Collector and District Magistrate of Bhilwara.
As of 202,5, which saw the end of the fiscal year, we see Jasmeet Singh Sandhu still in the role of District Collector in Rajasthan, where he has been using his organizational skills and a very human approach to what is known as grassroots governance.
