As for his exact h, that info isn’t consistently put forth, but what is noted is that he has a medium-tall build.
Early Life and Family
Jagan Mohan Reddy comes from a political family that is very much into public life. He did his schooling at The Hyderabad Public School and went on to get a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Pragathi Mahavidyalaya in Hyderabad. Before his foray into politics, he was an entrepreneur who owned power and media companies. In 19,96 he married Y. S. Bharathi, and the couple has two daughters. Also in the family is his sister Y. S. Sharmil, who is involved in state-level politics.
Political Trajectory and Key Facts

Reddy began his political career with the Indian National Congress and in 2009 was elected to Parliament from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency. In September 2009, his father’s sudden death in a helicopter crash changed everything. Out of a fallout with the Congress party high command over his “Odarpu Yatra” (condolence tour), he resigned and in 2011 founded the YSR Congress Party, which he based on his father’s legacy and public support.
A landmark of his tenure was the Praja Sankalpa Yatra (People’s Resolve Walkathon), which he did from 2017 to 20,19, of 3,00 km, which in turn greatly improved his public image and party’s reach. This he achieved in the 2019 general and assembly polls, which saw YSRCP secure 151 out of 175 seats.
Jagan Mohan Reddy was the 17th Chief Minister of Andhra which he served from May 2019 until June 2024. His term was characterized by the introduction of what were known as ‘Navaratnalu’ welfare schemes and also the put forth idea of having three state capitals (Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Kurnool). After the YSR
CP’s defeat in the 2024 Assembly polls, he went back to being a Member of the Legislative Assembly, which he represented from the Pulivendula constituency.
Legal Challenges
Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone through great legal trouble for the majority of his career. He has been a party to many cases that revolve around the issue of large-scale acquisition of assets, which we see from the CBI and the ED. In 201,2, he was put under arrest and spent time in judicial custody, which he later got out of via bail. These legal issues, which he is a part of to this day, are a main point of his public and political life. Also in 2025, he is still the president of the YSRCP.
