Netflix has, in many way,s become the base platform for Bollywood in which it is a great distributor but also a large-scale creator of original content. By 2025, the platform’s library of Indian films has grown greatly, and we see new releases for what they are worth, and at the same time, the classic, critically received films are finding new audiences. Here is a report of some of the top “hottest” Bollywood movies on Netflix at present, based on what they have been doing in terms of popularity, critical reception, and viewership.
New Releases Making a Splash
Netflix’s release strategyhigh-demandmand films to its platform is working out. We see in late 2024 and 2025 that they have several titles that are taking over watch lists.
Metro… In Dino: In late August of 2025, this romantic drama hit the screens and has been a big success with audiences. It features a great ensemble cast, which includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, and Anupam Kher in lead roles, and also looks at the issues of modern relationships.Alsos, due to the film’s relatable story and great acting, the film is a talk of the town on social media.
Saiyaara: Directed by Mohit Suri and which also features the debut o–Ahaan Panday along with Manushi Chhillar in the lead, this romantic thriller has won over the younger audience. Also,o it has a great look to it, number one hit music, and a very engaging story, which has put it at the top of the watch list.
Dhoom Dhaam: Released on Valentine’s Day, the romantic drama that stars Pratik Gandhi and Yami Gautam is an absolute pleasure to watch. It has a fun storyline, which, when paired with the great lead pair, has created a perfect option for audience members who are in the mood for entertainment and something that leaves them with a good feeling.
Critically Acclaimed Gems
Some of the top-rated films on Netflix are not for the latest releases but rather have what makes them relevant and draws in new audiences.
Laapta Ladies: Directed by Kiran Rao, this 2024 film is a fan favorite. We see in it a very endearing and funny story of two brides who get switched at a train station, which is, in factt a brilliant film you won’t want to miss.
Jawan: In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan’s project, which was a massive hit, is still doing very well on Netflix. What we see is a large audience appeal along with a strong message, which is seeing this film remain at the top of the most watched list and thus proving its durability on the platform.

Netflix also features classic films that are becoming rediscovered by younger generations on the platform. These movies have a timelessness that makes them “hot” every year.
Gangs of Wasseypur: Anurag Kashyap has a grand crime saga, which is a favorite for many. In it,theree are present complex plots, realistic settings, and great performances from Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiq,ui which in turn make it a very cinematic experience that still draws in audiences.
Andhadhun: This thriller, which stars Ayushmann Khurrand but is a work of art in terms of suspense and dark comedy. The film has a tight script play which, in tur,n presents a series of surprising twists that leave the audience on the edge of their seats, which in turn makes it a very watchable film.
The Rise of Regional Cinema
Netflix is also into presenting the best of what Indian regional cinema has to offer to a global audience. Though not what you would term Bollywood, these films have broken records in India and abroad.
RRR: This South Indian film directed by S.S. Rajamouli* is a hit. Since its release, it has held the number one spot as the most-watched Indian film on Netflix. Also, its large-scale action, deep emotion, and playfulness have made it a world sensation.
Netflix’s in 20,25 we see a wide and diverse range of Bollywood films. From large-scale star vehicles to feel-good comedies and the grittier dramas and international blockbusters, they have it all. The platform is one you turn to if you are a fan of the best in Indian cinema.
