Sana Makbul, also known as Sana Maqbool, is an Indian actress and model who has established a prominent presence in both television and film industries. Born on June 13, 1993, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Sana was raised in the city where she continues to reside. Her roots trace back to her Malayali mother, and she pursued her higher education at National College, Mumbai, graduating before stepping into the entertainment world.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Sana began her professional journey in the world of modelling, which soon paved the way for her appearance in television commercials and shows. She made her first notable appearance on television in 2009 with the popular reality show MTV Scooty Teen Diva. Her performance and screen presence caught the industry’s eye, and she transitioned into acting roles on Indian television.
Her acting debut came in 2010 with the Disney Channel India teen musical series Ishaan: Sapno Ko Awaaz De, created by Red Chillies Idiot Box. The show aired from May 15, 2010, to March 27, 2011, and introduced Sana to a new audience. She followed this up with roles in several hit series including Kitani Mohabbat Hai 2 (2010–2011), where she played the role of Shefali, and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? (2011–2012) on Star Plus, where she portrayed Lavanya Kashyap.
In 2012, she played a key role as Riya Mukherjee in the Star Plus crime investigation show Arjun, alongside Shaleen Malhotra. The show aired from August 11, 2012, to February 23, 2014, and contributed significantly to her rising popularity.
Rise in the Glamour World
Parallel to her television journey, Sana participated in Femina Miss India 2012, where she was crowned Femina Miss Beautiful Smile, adding another feather to her cap. Her success in pageantry further fueled her film ambitions.
In 2014, she made her feature film debut in the Telugu romantic comedy Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, where she adopted the screen name Sana Makbul. She played the role of Samhitha, an aerobics trainer who becomes the love interest of both a father and his son — a unique and bold storyline.
Sana’s film career continued with the Tamil action-crime thriller Rangoon (2017), directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, in which she starred opposite Gautham Karthik. The film was well-received. She also appeared in the Telugu movie Mama O Chandamama.
In 2019, she made a comeback to television with the supernatural fantasy drama Vish: A Poisonous Story, portraying Dr. Aliya Sanyal. The show aired on Colors TV from June 10, 2019, to September 27, 2019.
