Born on April 10, 1975, in Mumbai, Terence Lewis is the youngest among 8 siblings in a Mangalorean Catholic family. His parents, Xavier Lewis and Teresa Lewis, taught him strong values from an early age. Terence showed a keen hobby in dance during his childhood and actively participated in cultural activities during his school years at St. Theresa’s Boys High school.
Although he pursued a diploma in hotel management from the Institute of hotel management, Dadar, his passion for fitness and dance led him to complete a certificates course in fitness training from progressive fitness, USA. His pursuit of excellence finally took him to the Martha Graham center of contemporary Dance in New York, where he trained in contemporary, ballet, and jazz—an experience that transformed his technique to dance forever.
Career breakthrough and Bollywood journey
Terence’s massive break came when he worked as a choreographer in the Oscar-nominated movie Lagaan, along the legendary Saroj Khan. From there, he hooked up a position for himself within the Indian entertainment industry.
He went on to choreograph several movies, such as Jhankaar Beats, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Gold and many more.
